Do you know the manufacturing process of PP meltblown filter element? Usually in the application of it, if you master more knowledge in this area, it will be more convenient to use, because the structure of the PP meltblown filter element is a gradual tightening structure with thick outer fibers, fine inner fibers, loose outer layers, and tight inner layers. The unique gradient depth filtration has formed a three-dimensional filter residue effect, which has the characteristics of high porosity, high rejection rate, large dirt holding capacity, large flow rate and low pressure drop.

Meltblown process is a kind of polymer extrusion non-woven process, originated in the early 50s of the 20th century, the United States Navy laboratory in order to collect radioactive particles produced by nuclear tests, began to develop filter materials with ultra-fine filtration effect, published research results in 1954. China's meltblown technology originated in the late 50s and early 60s, and the equipment studied was intermittent. By the end of the 60s and the beginning of the 70s, the number of intermittent meltblown equipment in China has reached more than 200 units. Around 92-94, continuous production lines were introduced from the United States and Germany. So far, it is estimated that there are still more than 300 batch meltblown equipment in operation across the country.

Theoretically, all thermoplastic (high-temperature melting, low-temperature curing) polymer chips can be used in the manufacturing process of meltblown filters. Polypropylene is a kind of chipping raw material used in the meltblown process, in addition, the polymer chipping raw materials commonly used in the meltblown process are polyester, polyamide, polyethylene, PTFE, polystyrene, PBT, EMA, EVA, etc. Olefin polymer raw materials (such as polypropylene) have a high degree of polymerization, so the heating temperature is more than 100 °C above its melting point to be meltblown smoothly, while the heating temperature of polyester is slightly higher than its melting point to meltblow. Olefin feedstocks generally do not need to be dried.

The structural characteristics of PP meltblown filter element are that the fiber fineness is relatively small, usually less than 10 microns, and most of the fiber fineness is between 1~4 microns.
