The name of the CTO filter element is the sintered activated carbon filter element, also known as the carbon rod filter element, and the compressed activated carbon filter element. This kind of filter element is made of granular activated carbon and added to the binder (such as PE resin) heated and sintered and extruded, and the outer layer of the carbon core is often wrapped with white polypropylene, that is, PP non-woven fabric.
The CTO filter element has both adsorption and filtration (average pore size 3~20μm), but its filtration function is slightly lower than that of PP meltblown filter element, and its adsorption function is slightly lower than that of granular activated carbon filter element. In the technical index of activated carbon, it is stipulated that the adsorption capacity of various types of activated carbon is expressed by iodine value, methyl blue value, phenol value and tannin value, which can reflect that it has reached adsorption saturation, thereby reflecting its adsorption capacity.
CTO filter element in the actual use process, especially for the user of the water purifier, these indicators are difficult to judge directly, at present, most of the use of the water purifier treatment of the water to express, to remind the user to replace the activated carbon filter.
